The term "East Wing" is a reference to one of the two wings that extend out from the main body or central part of a building. In many large homes, palaces and government buildings, there are typically two symmetrical wings - one on the east side and one on the west side. The East Wing refers specifically to the wing located on the eastern side of the structure.
